Projects
Here are some cool projects that I worked on, though by far not all
Pulmoll - Website
Pulmoll approached my team with the idea of relaunching their website. It was important to the customer to keep their CI (the pulmoll red, slight angles) present, but deliver with a new and fresh look. During the development process, I've been working with Wordpress, PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript, as well as managed a team of 5 developers.
Visit WebsiteVolkswagen 'Winston' - Tool
The Volkswagen AG approached my team with the idea of a data processing tool. After some consulting, we decided upon not only data processing, but also data enrichment, automation of tasks that were still done by hand with a full backend and frontend solution, as well as data exploration capabilities. During the development process, I've been working heavily with Python, Django and some minor frontend parts. My team consisted of around 8 people.
Beverage manufacturer - intranet
A known beverage manufacturer approached my team with the request to help them with tracking and analysis on their extensive intranet. During the development process, I've been working with Mapp and their SmartPixel solution, which we've introduced on an application level to eleviate common tracking pitfalls, which resulted in a more stable product. Additionally, I shortened development times by consulting the customers' other developers on how to implement our solution in their applications.
Bombardier - Consultancy
Bombardier approached my team with the request to help them further automate their factories, by starting to use modern smart technologies. I worked closely together with the talented people at Porsche Consulting and we went through several dozen use-cases, estimating what needs to be done to fulfill them in terms of resources and priority. The consulting process and result went so well, that other companies approached our partners at Porsche Consulting to have us do the same for them.
Deutsche Bank 'Social Media Dashboard' - Tool
I worked for Deutsche Bank on a backend and frontend solution, that should help their social media team to react to news and trends much quicker. To achieve this, I've created a Django backend with some crawlers for news sites, as well as active Tweepy, real time connection to Twitter. I batch analyzed the sentiment of articles and social media activity, categorized it and eventually displayed it in an interactive dashboard that'd be near realtime.
Zalando Corporate - Website
Zalando approached us with the idea to relaunch their corporate website. With a peculiar design and interesting CI, it has been a blast working as a frontend developer on this project, especially since we used atomic components. Additionally I've helped the backend team with Drupal. For the customer it was important to support downt to IE9.
Visit WebsiteVW Truck & Bus (Traton) - Website
VW approached our team with the idea to relaunch their 'Truck & Bus' website. Similar to other websites you've seen here, I've worked with atomic components and a brilliant team. To avoid bloat, we used pure JavaScript. For the customer it was important to support downt to IE9.
Visit WebsiteInsiders Technologies - Website
Insider Technologies approached our team, asking if we could help them relaunch their website. During the development I was mostly focused on the frontend parts, however I helped in the backend occasionally. For the customer it was important to support downt to IE9. To avoid bloat, we used pure JavaScript and all components were build using the atomic / molecule method.
Visit WebsiteEOS Solutions - Website
EOS approached our team, asking if we could help them relaunch their website. During the development I was mostly focused on the frontend parts, however I helped in the backend occasionally. For the customer it was important to support downt to IE9. To avoid bloat, we used pure JavaScript and all components were build using the atomic / molecule method.
Visit WebsiteDVAG - Website
DVAG approached us with the idea to relaunch their corporate website. Just like with the Zalando website, it's been a fun project, thanks to atomic components and a great team. We used pure JS to avoid bloat. For the customer it was important to support downt to IE9.
Visit WebsiteNinja Toad Academy - Mobile
Ninja Toad Academy is a small Android game I designed and developed during a weekend in late 2015, to check how to program Android games only with Java and no engine behind it. Additionally I tested how monetization works and created everything, from the pixel graphics to animations and of course the code. I've taken the game off the Google Play Store in 2017.
Visit WebsiteSmall Websites & Shops
I've been developing many (25+) Wordpress and Magento websites for smaller businesses up until 2017. These were some of the harder jobs, because technical consulting for smaller businesses is often seen as some sort of sales pitch. None the less, most of them turned out great.
Visit WebsiteGame Prototyping - Games
I love learning new things, so I'm trying to stay up to date with Unity's development process and certain techniques that might come in handy in other projects. For this matter I often prototype small games, mostly 2D but sometimes 3D, to test them. Most recently I've been busy with Shaders and the Universal Render Pipeline. In the future I see myself dipping into the Unreal Engine, as it's been catching up tremendously.
Visit WebsiteApp Prototyping - Apps
Similar to the Game Prototyping section, I do the same for applications. I'm always eager to learn new things, which is also why I've made the switch from ReactJS to VueJS recently. From small applications like reading out price data for trading cards and pricing the ones I have based on their condition, to bigger Applications like organizing notes in an interactive user-interface for our Dungeons & Dragons campaign. If I have an idea for an application, I'll most likely prototype it and see what comes of it.
Visit WebsiteThis Website - Websiteception
Of course I've also created this website by using a technology that was new to me at the time but which I've learned to love. This website was created within a few days from scratch using Hugo (Go), HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
